Germany’s most popular women’s magazine, Brigitte, recently announced that they will no longer be using professional models (size 0) in their photo shoots. Lady Gaga wasn’t always into crazy fashion. In fact three years ago, while living in New York City, Gaga was just plain Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Seen here in an old clip of MTV’s hidden camera show, Boiling Point, Gaga is brunette and wears a plain cotton summer dress. No crazy makeup, no weird wigs, no puppets.
I guess Kristen Bell is pretty. But I think she is pretty average when it comes to looks and acting. Either way, here she is at the premiere for her latest comedy, Couples Retreat. Also starring Vince Vaughn and Jason Bateman; Couples Retreat is about 4 couples on vacation that end up working on their marriage in group couples therapy. I guess that could be funny.
I just don’t see the appeal with Bell. She is petite, blonde, and skinny. I get that. But looks wise, I just think she is meh. This dress is a little prom in the 90’s with the random piece of fabric trailing off, and her shoes look like something from the Jessica Simpson line. Not a fan, but I don’t hate it. It’s like her face, just meh.

Hit or miss? Rihanna made an interesting fashion statement this past weekend at Paris Fashion Week. The singer paired a white bustier with turquoise, chained skirt and accessorized with plenty of jewelry, sunglasses, and a bedazzled Chanel muff. The outfit is a little off, and looks like a combination of grandma and Madonna. The bustier and skirt are a bit unflattering for her shape, and the muff looks out of place with the sleeveless top.

Lindsay Lohan should stick to what she’s good at… nothing. The “actress” unveiled her first collection as “artistic director” under the Ungaro label and has had nothing but horrible reviews! What is even more shocking is her appearance and behavior in this clip. She is barely recognizable, and is clearly on drugs.

Raf hi tops in a fluro-neoprene upper of hot pink, brown black and the royal blue that’s seen in the shrugs and jackets from the a/w collection. Shoe’s fully lined in leather and the sole’s an off-white vulcanized leather. As Kanye would say… It’s Amazing.

Apparently Mishka NYC went back to college as part of a collaboration with Colt 45 and Vice Magazine. The classic backpack comes in blue with a beige suede bottom and a multitude of patches on the upper complete two Colts on the sides. The backpack is exclusively available at the Mishka flagship store in Brooklyn.

Miley Cyrus has teamed up with designer Max Azria to create a new clothing line for Walmart. The label is titled Miley Cyrus & Max Azria (really creative name BTW) and claims to be easy on the wallet, with a UK edge. Cyrus comments on the inspiration for her new line saying,
“I wanted to finally make something that was for girls my age. Something me and my friends would wear. But I’d say anyone from age 8-80 can enjoy this line. My inspiration for the line is kind of an edgy UK style. Every time I go to Europe I love going to all the funky stores. I wanted to be able to bring those fun styles to the girls of America. I love the leggings. I’ve seen leggings like our Miley & Max ones that are about $500. Ours are so affordable and they look super chic!”
The line includes bras, sleepwear, jeans, tops, dresses, and more. Hopefully the line will offer quality in addition to the cheap price tag. Miley Cyrus & Max Azria will be available for purchase just in time for back-to-school shopping this month on Walmart.com. Walmart is also sponsoring Miley’s Live Concert tour, which begins September 14th in my hometown Portland, Oregon! Maybe you Miley fans can wear her new gear to her new concert. YEAH! Cameron Diaz shows some edge on the cover of the 2009 Fall Preview issue of V Magazine. Sporting dark lips, platinum hair, and leather gear; Diaz discusses her career, kids, and her private life. Diaz could use a little variety in her look and her career. In my opinion, she has been looking rather leathery on screen lately. This erotic, Madonna-like empowerment is a welcomed change.
“I use my own judgment,” she says, sitting up a little straighter. “I don’t care how people see me. I know who I am and what I’m capable of.”

To celebrate the release of Paul Rodriguez’s third shoe, Nike SB has produced a new commercial titled “Today Was a Good Day.” In addition to the commercial, there will also be a web exclusive extended version of “Today Was a Good Day” that stars Paul with some special friends. This version premiers July 31st over at Nike.
The first accessories from the BAPE Fall 2009 Collection have just been released and let me tell you, we’re not really impressed at all. The first installment includes a luggage collection, consisting of a fanny pack, backpack, pouch and a shoulder bag with all bags coming in 4 colorways. I love watches. When I say “watches” I only mean Swiss watches. Luckily for me Swiss watch maker Zenith has just introduced several new very nice watches in their DEFY XTREME 2009 collection. The Defy Xtreme Tourbillon Zero-G is a sleek looking masterpiece that actually defies gravity, as Zenith has devised a Zero-G (zero gravity) system. The gyroscope cage Tourbillon comprises an escapement mounted on cardan joints rather like marine chronometers. The instrument, which is sensitive to changes of position, is kept in a constant horizontal position, thereby ensuring optimal amplitude for the spiral balance-wheel. Basically all that means is this watch kicks ass.
